3.86 Release Notes (Nov 2019)

Release Overview

The focus of this release was to add a “New Approval Submission” button to the dashboard to help occasional users more easily work out how to submit work for approval.

Improvements

  • AD-1994 Dashboard > New Button “Approval Submission”

We heard feedback that new/occasional users would be confused when they first came into the system to submit something for approval and couldn’t find where to do that.

We have now added a “New Approval Submission” button to the Dashboard to help guide people into loading their work and submitting it for approval.

When clicking the button, the user is asked if this is a new project they are working on or if this is an existing project.

If they select the New Project option, they are taken to a slightly modified version of the New Project screen where they can fill in the core details of the project and upload artwork to submit. They are then taken to the Approval Submission screen where they select the approvers for this work and submit it.

If they select the Existing Project option, they are asked to select the project they want to add artwork to and then able to upload new revisions to existing deliverables, or add artwork as new deliverables in the project. They are then taken to the Approval Submission screen where they select the approvers for this work and submit it.

This is an additional method of creating a project and the previous methods are still available.

To help explain this better, a short video has been prepared for you.

  • AD-2054 Updates to the Header Bar

We have freshened up the header bar at the top of the screen. It is mostly a cosmetic update but there are some more fundamental changes. These include;

The “In Progress” module has been relabelled as “Projects”. We did this to try and help occasional users find their list of projects more easily.

The “Approvals” module has been moved from the right hand side of the header to the left side between the “Projects” and “Ad Storage” modules. We did this because it better represents the lifecycle of a job from being a project, having approvals added to it and then finally moving to Ad Storage once it is done.

We made the changes to freshen up the look but also to assist users to better find the information they are looking for.

  • AD-1957 Adding Deliverables to a Project > Allow user to set Supply Deadline

Now, when adding deliverables to project, you are able to set a Supply Deadline as you are adding the deliverable rather than creating the deliverable and then adding the supply deadline later.

  • AD-2027 Project Documents > Add a search filter to the documents list

You can now search the documents within your project.

  • AD-2026 Project Documents > Add a sort option to the documents list

By default, the documents in your project are sorted by the date they last had a revision uploaded to them. However, you can now sort the documents within your project by name or type.

  • AD-1952 Project > Uploading Revisions to Multiple Deliverables > Allow users to see a larger artwork image
    When using the Upload Revisions option, a user is able to see multiple deliverables and a thumbnail image is displayed for each one. Often, if artwork for different deliverables is similar, it can be hard to tell which deliverable is which. Now, if you click on this thumbnail image, you will be able to see a larger version.

  • AD-2077 Project Details > Ability to edit Key Dates from the project details screen

We have now made it quicker and easier to edit the Key Dates for a job directly from the Project Details screen.

  • AD-1246 System Messages > Improve Message Subjects

We have reviewed and modified the message subjects for all messages sent from admation. Where appropriate, we have included the name and ID of the job/s related to the message to better identify the message in your email. For example, if you receive an approval request, the email subject used to be;

Approval: Your approval has been requested on [Job Name]

Now the subject will be;

[Job Name] approval requested in admation (ID 12345)

This will allow users to better identify the emails in your inbox by seeing the job name first and by being able to search by the ID of the job etc.

  • AD-2077 Project Details > Ability to edit Key Dates from the project details screen

We have now made it quicker and easier to edit the Key Dates for a job directly from the Project Details screen.

  • AD-1947 Full Screen Approval View > Allow users to toggle if a markup stays visible or not

Previously, when viewing feedback, if you rolled your cursor over a markup, the details – including the annotation itself – of that markup would appear on screen. Then when you rolled off, the details would disappear. Now you are able to pin the markup so that it will stay visible on screen. To hide it again, click anywhere on the screen.

  • AD-1949 Full Screen Approval view > Zoom In > If markup is off screen, jump to that part of the artwork when rolling over the mark up on the right side of screen
    Sometimes your artwork will have lots of markup on it and when you are zoomed in you cannot see all of the markup on screen. If you then rollover a mark up, it can be confusing to work out where that mark up appears on the artwork. We have now added a magnifying glass icon to the markups on the right hand side of the screen that will scroll the artwork to show that particular markup on screen.

  • AD-1948 Full Screen Approval View > Show date/time a markup was added

Previously we would show that a markup was added “about a day ago” or “6 days ago” etc. Now we display the actual date and time that the markup was added.

  • AD-1963 Full Screen Approval View > Large Animated GIF > Allow users to zoom in

Users can now zoom in on animated gifs in the full screen approval view to better review these files.

  • AD-1964 Full Screen Approval View > Allow organisations to restrict the forwarding types

When a user receives an approval request, they are able to forward that request to additional people for approval or for feedback. Organisations can now restrict it so that users can only forward for approval OR forward for feedback if desired.

If you would like to set this up for your organisation, please contact your client liaison to assist you with this.

  • AD-1758 Online Form > Allow dates to be mapped to Custom Key Dates in a job

For organisations that use our online briefs as well as custom key dates in their jobs, we can now fill in dates in the brief and have them pushed through to the newly created project.

If you would like to add online briefs to admation then please contact your client liaison and they will be able to help.
