3.94 Release Notes (November 2020)

This page outlines the new features, improvements, bug fixes and other tasks included in this admation release.

Release Overview

The focus of this release was to allow approval requests to be recalled as well as giving users more markup options when giving feedback on artwork. We have also adjusted the the interface for the Ad Storage and Asset Library lists to make it easier to see more information about your assets without needing to dive into them.

Improvements

AD-592 Allowing an approval request to be recalled

We have added the ability to recall an approval request. You can do this either from the actions menu from within the deliverable details screen, or directly from within the approval details screen.

When you recall an approval request, a window will appear allowing you to fill in a message that will be sent to all approvers.

AD-2455 Online Forms > Add icon to text area fields allowing users to upload images

Previously, users were able to drag and drop images into a text area on a form but not everyone knew about this feature. Text areas within forms now have a button allowing you to add images to the area.

AD-2430 Full Screen Approval View > New tool to highlight text

We have added a new markup tool to the full screen approval view which we call Highlighter. The highlighter allows you to draw a thick, translucent line over your artwork to highlight areas.

What sets the highlighter apart from other existing tools is the ability to draw multiple lines for the same markup. To do this, simply hold the “shift” key down while you are drawing. Releasing the shift key will complete your markup.

AD-2462 Submit for Approval > Improvements to remembering external user

Previously, when submitting/forwarding approval requests to external users, you were required to type in the recipient’s email address each time. We have now improved this functionality.

The first time you send something to an external user you will still be required to enter their details. However, the next time you send something to that person, you will be able to start typing their name like any other user and select them from a presented list.

Bug Fixes

AD-1230 Video and HTML Approval > Collating Feedback > Captured frames not included
Fixed a bug when collating feedback on artwork where snapshots are taken (eg video, HTML and animated GIFs) that would prevent a user from collating feedback properly.

AD-2509 Approvals > Unable to use the Batch functionality when acting on behalf of users
Fixed a bug where a user who is acting on behalf of a colleague is unable to use the Batch feedback actions.

AD-2489 Online Forms > Foreign language characters unable to be exported to PDF

Fixed a bug where text input using some Asian character sets was not appearing on the PDF outputs. We specifically tested for Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese, although the fix should work for other UTF-16 based languages as well.

If you are still having trouble exporting your forms to PDF, please contact your client success manager for assistance.

AD-2285 Online Forms > Content gets wrapped to a fixed width when exported as a PDF
Fixed a bug where text would wrap to the next line prematurely when exported as a PDF.

AD-2456 Online Forms > Validate against dragging and dropping files that don’t render
Text areas within forms support rich text formatting including the ability to add images to the area. However, some users were trying to drag other types of files into a text area which was causing issues. We are now validating these files and rejecting any which are not images that can be displayed.

AD-2433 Online Forms > improve resolution of header/footer images

Fixed a bug where images displayed in the header or footer of a PDF brief were shown in low resolution and would print poorly.

AD-2481 Online Forms > An organisation should not be able to see forms from sibling organisations
Admation allows for a complex set up of organisations. For example, a soft drink manufacturer may have several brands under it with each brand operating as its own organisation. We would organise this in a tree like structure:

  • Sodas R Us
    • ColaBrand
    • OrangeBrand
    • LemonadeBrand

In this case, the three brands are known as “sibling organisations” because they both share the same “parent”.

Previously, if a sibling organisation had online forms associated to it, those forms were accessible to the other siblings as well. We have now removed this bug.
