All Approval vs Any Approval for Groups

All Approval vs. Any Approval for Groups

Within Admation, you can control how many people are required to give you feedback within a particular approval group. This is done by using the ALL and ANY buttons.

If there’s more than one person in a given group, sometimes it can be more efficient to limit the number of people who need to approve or request changes to artwork, for that feedback to be valid.

That's where ALL or ANY can come into the picture.

All vs. Any Approval for Groups on the Simple Screen

When submitting for approval on the simple screen submission, you'll have options to toggle between all or any for each group on the approvers section. On the admation simple screen, groups use icons to highlight whether an approval requires ALL  people to approve, or whether it requires ANY  one person's approval. You can click on a given group to toggle between the two available options.

The ALL approval is usually selected for a group by default. It suggests that everyone within a given group or team needs to sight and approve the work, to be valid.

The ANY approval suggests that one person’s approval within that group is sufficient. Once one person within that group responds, no further input is needed from the other group members. That one person speaks on behalf of the rest of the group in order for a response to be valid.

In an ANY approval, once feedback is received by one of those group members, the remaining members can no longer provide their feedback on an item (and are locked out from providing feedback). Users in an ANY approval also have the added ability to reserve the work for themselves, or for someone else in their team to complete.

You will also notice an area on the simple screen to template the all or any buttons for levels.

All vs. Any Approval for Groups on the Advanced Screen

The advanced submission screen on admation does not use icons to distinguish between all or any, and submissions are templated down the screen. You will have ALL and ANY buttons next to both the name of a level, and the name of a group, in order to make your edits.

From the advanced screen, you also have the added ability to remove users from groups in a given submission by clicking on the next to their name, in the event that not everybody needs to see the work.

If you’re unsure about ANY or ALL approvals, you may want to talk to your Admation Client Success manager about the best options for your business. You can also apply approval types for levels, and create approval templates if you would like to take the guesswork out of this process for your teams.
