How Tags Are Used in Admation
Tags in admation are somewhat different to the regular tags you may see on say, Instagram or Pinterest for example. Like the regular social media sites, tags are used to categorise different projects in admation.
You may recall that campaigns are also used to categorise different projects in admation. The main difference is that you can attach multiple tags to projects in admation, whilst a project may only have one campaign.
Adding Tags to Admation
Tags in admation are kind of a two-step process. Unlike your regular social media sites where a #tag usually states a single keyword, admation tags are split into headings and subheadings. Categorising projects by different products are sometimes a great place to start with tags.
Keeping this in mind, a set of tags might be grouped like this:
- Tag Group: Automaton Products
- Tags: Admation, VendorPath, RetailPath, LocalPath
The 4 tags above are all different products available via the software company, Automaton. A project may be related to one or more of the Automaton Products, and we can select from any of these options when creating projects.
To create a new tag in admation, head to System Administration at the top of your screen. A user will only see System Administration if they have specific permissions.
Click Tags.
To create a new tag group in the system, click New Tag.
Provide a name for your group of tags. You may also write a description in this section to communicate what's included in this group. The tag description is only visible from the admin section.
To add your tags, click the button that says Add a New Tag. Continue adding your tags by clicking this link until you're happy with your inputs.
Once you're happy with your additions, then click Save.
Adding Tags to an Existing Tag Group
