Using Folders to Organise Your Inbox

Using Folders to Organise Your Inbox

Using folders can be a great way to organise your messages into meaningful, structured categories, depending on how you use the system. This guide shows you how you can create personal message folders from your messaging inbox.

To start, click the Messages icon at the top of your screen. A number next to this icon suggests that you have an unread message.

From your inbox, you can see all messages sent to you by team members, or via an admation system notification. Along the left hand side of the screen, there is a section for your inbox, sent messages, draft messages and archived messages. Underneath that, you may see an empty section that's reserved for your folders.

Creating a New Folder

To create a new folder in admation, click the green plus icon Screen_Shot_2019-11-04_at_12.01.19_pm.png next to your folders. Then give your folder a name and click Save.

Note that folders are arranged in the order you create them. The first folder you create sits at the top of the list, and every other folder that's created afterwards will sit underneath the previous one. There is no current functionality that allows you to rearrange the order of your messaging folders.

Moving a Message into a Folder

To move a message into a folder, click into the message you'd like to view. Then click the Move to Folder button. Files that have been archived can't be moved into a folder.

Moving Multiple Messages into a Folder

To move messages into a folder in bulk, you can use the checkboxes along the left side of your messages to select all the messages you would like to mark.

Then click the move to folder Screen_Shot_2020-01-02_at_4.23.30_pm.png button. It looks like a yellow folder with a white arrow on it. From the dropdown, select the folder you'd like to move the message into.

You can click the folder to access these messages. They will be moved out of your inbox and into your folder of choice.

Deleting a Folder

To delete a folder, click the delete icon image-0.png next to your folder and confirm your decision. When you delete a folder, any messages inside that folder will be moved back into your inbox.
