Navigating Through Your Messaging Inbox
Admation comes with an in-built messaging platform as standard, to keep track of your project's messages. Whilst you can send project-specific messages from a project, this guide discusses the messages tab at the top of your screen, which encapsulates your messages from all projects across admation.
To start, click the Messages icon at the top of your screen. A number next to this icon suggests that you have an unread message.
By default, your messages are sorted by date, however you can change this by clicking the Sort By button at the top of your screen.
Clicking the triangle icon flips your sort order into an ascending or descending order. You can also toggle between the different pages of your inbox.
Or you may want to use the Filters to refine your search for specific messages.
Checking for New Messages
If you're waiting to receive a message from someone and you can't see it on your screen yet, you can also click Check Messages to refresh and reload your messages screen.
Grouping Messages in Threads
As of admation 3.99, you can now group messages together as threads! Visualise conversations and responses by ensuring that the Group Messages button is ticked.
This change will affect both your global and project-specific messages.
Reading and Responding to Messages
A blue circle next to a message indicates an unread message. Click a message to read its contents. You can use the menu at the top of each message to:
- Send a reply
- Send a reply to everyone CC'ed in the message
- Forward the message
- Mark the message as unread
- Archive the message
- Move the message to a custom folder
Each message may also have a call to action, attachment or reference link. This link is different depending on the type of message that's sent to you. The call to action may:
- Link to a message
- Link to a specific task
- Link to a project
- Link to an approval
- Allow you to preview certain documents
Admation automatically links these links to a message that's sent to you. These can be great for easy access to items related to your message. Keep reading for instructions on how to create a new message.
