Logging Time Against Someone Else's Tasks from the Resource Summary or Project Resources Views
Department managers can log time against tasks on behalf of their department members from the Resource Summary or Project Resources Views. This is a great tool for ensuring that everyone's logged time, or timesheets, are up to date and accurate.
Viewing Logged Time Against Tasks under the By User Gantt View
Accounts with specific permissions can access the Resources menu. With base permissions, you can use this menu to view all the work that's been assigned to everyone in your department. With additional permissions, you can also use this screen to create tasks, schedule meetings and view and schedule team away days.
To view logged time against tasks in your resource manager, click the Options button from either the By Project or By User view. Then ensure that Show Logged Time is selected from the resulting list.
Logged time will show as a green filled bar for any time that's already been logged. The logged time bar shows how much of a task has been completed, when compared to the estimated number of hours allocated to a task. So if a user has logged time equal to 3 hours, for a task that's been allocated 4 hours, the bar will show at 75%.
Logging Time Against Tasks using the Task Menus
For both the By User and By Project views in the resource manager, you have the option to click the Settings Icon next to each task. From the resulting menus, you'll have the options to Log Time against each task.
You can also click any of the coloured bars and from the resulting pop up window, click the green man icon to log time for your team.
You also have the same menu options under your project resources.
Admation will then show a window that prompts you to log time on behalf of your team members.
Log their time by filling in the required fields, then click Add Entry to log your inputs on behalf of that other person. You can also tell admation that This task is complete from this screen, and Save Changes once you are done!
Or delete existing inputs by clicking the trash can next to the relevant entry.
Viewing Logged Time Against Tasks using Colour Coded Bars
From your resource manager, you may also notice that there may be several coloured bars on a screen for a single task. Any coloured bar represents a task's scheduled start and end times. Any grey bars on this screen would then represent any time logged for a given task, regardless of whether it was done during or outside of its scheduled time.
You may click a grey bar on your screen to view more information on when the time was logged.
