Creating Task Dependencies

Creating Task Dependencies

Dependencies suggest that the commencement of one task depends on the completion of another. When creating task dependencies, you'll need to ensure that you have created at least one other task in the same project, so that you can link them together.

These links will show on certain views in the Project Resources screen, and on other views in the Resources Summary screen.

Creating Tasks in admation

To create a task dependency, you'll need to be a department manager with the ability to assign tasks. Head to either the Resources button, or the Project Resources button if you want to add tasks to a specific project.

Click + New Task to create a new task. Start by filling in the task name. If you're creating tasks from a specific project under Project Resources, then by default, your task will be linked to the project. Otherwise, you will need to select your project from the drop-down by clicking the Pencil Icon.

If your project has more than one task added, you'll see another section for dependencies.

To create a task dependency, click the Pencil Icon  and select an existing task by clicking the checkbox . Note that you'll only see tasks also associated to this project.

Click Done.
