Reminding Users to Respond to a Forwarded Approval Request

When you forward items for approval, you may be conscious of the time it takes to hear back from these users. There are multiple ways to attempt to speed up the process – so that you can include forwarded feedback in your own response.

When you first Forward an Item for approval, you can schedule up to three automatic reminders, notifying users to respond as a deadline approaches. These automatic reminders only send where the item is yet to be approved by that person.

You can also send reminders, after-the-fact from your Approvals screen. To send a message reminding the forward recipients that they need to provide feedback, you can click the Forwards tab. Then click the Settings button. Then click Remind All.

If you would like to remind specific people to respond, click Show All Reviewers and then click the Settings button next to a specific user's name, then Send Reminder.

You'll be able to fill in a message to that person (or people), prompting them to respond, including any additional information that you feel is needed. Click Send message to send your reminder.

You may also opt to lock your forward request when you no longer want to receive responses for a particular file.
