Comparing Versions of Artwork
When there are multiple revisions of an artwork, it can be handy to have a copy of previous versions of the artwork on file. It wouldn’t be logical to lose all of those comments and annotations from the previous version. Luckily, we’ve thought of that for you!
Once you’re on our approvals screen, you can click the Compare button to view previous versions of the artwork side-by-side.
By default, the artwork on the right is always the latest version. The one on the left is a previous version you’re comparing.
Reviewing Previous Versions of Artwork
You can also use the arrow buttons to toggle between older versions of work. The newest version will always show on the right. The older version will show on the left. The compare functionality also shows the different comments made on each version of artwork.
Note that you can only compare versions of work that you've been sent unless specifically turned on! So if you were only brought into the approval trail at Version 3, you won't be able to review Version 1 or 2!
“All Revisions Comparable” is turned off by default, but if you would like to discuss this feature more and potentially have it turned on, please reach out to your Client Success Manager and they will be happy to assist you.
Applying Feedback on the Latest Version in Compare Mode
To apply markup to the latest version found on the right of the screen in Compare Mode, use the markup tools. The mark up tools are located below the current version.
If you can't see these mark up tools on this screen, you may need to zoom out, or minimise the side-panel to allow for the additional space.
Because the version on the left simply previews the work that's already been completed, you cannot make comments on a previous version of work. You can only make comments on the current version of work.
If you need any guidance on how to apply markup on an artwork, please follow this guide. Once you've finished viewing previous revisions in Compare mode, click Return to Single View and submit your feedback by ticking the green tick to approve work or red cross to request changes.
