Creating Revisions of Documents

Creating Revisions of Documents

There may be instances where you'd like to make changes to documents loaded into admation. Like artwork loaded into the system, documents also have version controls. If you would like to make an edit to a document, you can do so by creating a new version of the document in the system.

The steps to create versions of documents differ slightly depending on whether the document originated as a digital form in admation, or whether you uploaded it as an external file from your device. This guide provides instructions for both types of documents.

Creating Revisions of Custom Briefs and Documents Created in admation

To create a new revision of a document, find your project under the Projects list and scroll down to the documents section. The counter on the right hand side of the documents section represents the current version number for that document. Then click the plus icon Screen_Shot_2019-11-04_at_12.01.19_pm.png  to create a new revision of work for that document. Then click Create Revision.

Make your changes to the custom document as needed, and click Save once you are happy with your changes. The revision counter will now show a V2 of that document.

Certain briefs in admation can be configured to copy information straight into the project. This feature is only available for certain fields when creating new projects from a brief. So when creating new revisions of a brief from this screen, it might be handy to know that admation will update the brief only. With this in mind, you may also like to make edits to your project too.

Creating Revisions of Briefs and Documents Created Outside of admation

You might have files on your computer that you'd like to store in admation projects. Where you've previously uploaded an external file to admation, you may like to upload a new revision of that file to your admation project. This will ensure appropriate version controlling of your files across your different campaigns.

Instead of uploading a new file each time you have a revision, you can click the button. Instead of taking you to a new screen, admation will you give you the option to upload a new file.

Click Browse or drag and drop the new file into the allocated field to load that new version into admation.
