Adding Briefs to Existing Projects

Using Existing Briefs

An existing brief is a new brief type, introduced with admation 3.94! It allows users to create briefs from the dashboard, slotting them into existing projects. A fantastic feature of the existing brief type is that the user filling in this brief type doesn't necessarily need access to the project! It's different to adding an admation templated online document, which can be added from within a given project.

Existing brief types need to be configured for your organisation. To get started, click Start or Continue Brief from your dashboard.

Then select the required brief from the available list.

If your brief uses the Existing Brief type, you'll be prompted to select the project it belongs to. You can also use the search and pagination options at the top of the window to narrow down your searches.

Fill in your online brief, using the instructions here as a guide if needed, then click Submit Brief in the top right hand corner of the brief.

Admation will turn your form into a PDF and will load it directly to your nominated project. Your admins have loaded a set list of people to receive a notification whenever a brief is loaded to an existing project. Fill in the subject and message fields for context, and hit Send Message.

Depending on your user settings, you may then have the options to:

  • Send For Approval, to send the brief off to stakeholders for review
  • New Message, to send the brief off as an attachment within the message
  • Download the brief - recommended
  • Create Revisions  of the brief
  • Edit the name of the brief in the project
  • Save to exit the screen

Note: For users without access to admation projects, this may be the last time you'll have the opportunity to see this file. We suggest downloading the file to have a copy on hand.
