Reverting to a Previous Version of a Deliverable
Uh-oh, we've all been there. You've added a file to admation only to realise it's the wrong one. You'd like to upload another version to replace it, but you know that the additional file will affect your revision count, and that won't look good to management.
Luckily, with the release of admation 3.93, you're now able to revert to the previous version of a deliverable. To start, head to your Project and click into your deliverable from the project structure on the left hand side of the screen. You'll notice your deliverable in the middle of the screen.
For each deliverable, you'll notice a Settings Cog in the middle of your screen.
Click the Settings Cog and then click Revert Revision.
Admation will revert the file back to the previous version. This action will be captured in the project's audit trail.
Conditions That Must Be Met if You're Reverting to Previous Deliverables
Of course, this feature does come with some caveats. In order to preserve the accuracy of the audit trail, we've built this functionality to be available only when the file meets certain conditions.
In order to revert to a previous version of a file:
- The deliverable must have at least one file attached to it. You cannot revert if you are at Version 0 (no file attached).
- The file must not be pending on a current approval trail. If so, you'll find that this button is not available from the list of drop-down options
Over the coming months, we'll be building in more functionality that enhances the conditions for this feature to be shown. Stay tuned!
