Updating the Structure of a Project
Admation structures projects in a folder set-up. After you create your project, you may want to add sub-folders. You can restructure your project, any sub-folders and deliverables in admation by following these steps.
Adding Sub-Folders to Admation
To start, head to the Projects menu and select an existing project from this view. You’ll then see your existing project structure which looks something like this along the left hand side of your screen:
To add sub-folders to your project, click the Cog icon next to your main folder. Select Create New Sub Project from your list.
You'll see a page that looks quite similar to the Create New Project screen. Fill in as many details as you'd like. However, usually filling in only the Sub-Project Name is sufficient here.
Clients often like to create sub-folders and structures around Deliverable Types (ie. EDMs, Billboards, etc) or by the Designer who's completing the work for that deliverable. Once you're happy with your inputs, click Create Sub-Project.
Continue adding sub-projects as needed. Once you're done, your menu might look something like this:
Restructuring Your Deliverables and Sub Folders
To restructure your project, click the Settings Cog icon next to your project. Click Edit Structure.
You’ll then see your projects, sub-projects and deliverables in a folder structure. Drag and drop each of the files to structure your folder as required.
Keep in mind that:
- All folders are shown in Bold.
- Deliverables are shown in regular text.
- All sub-folders and deliverables are automatically displayed in alphabetical order. This cannot be changed.
- The top level folder (your main project) can’t be re-structured.
Drag your deliverable or sub-folder over another folder. The folder will highlight in blue when it’s able to be dropped.
Repeat these steps until you’re happy with your changes. Click Save once you’re done!
