Manually Creating Projects from Submission Briefs

Manually Creating Projects from Submission Briefs

There are three ways to create projects from a brief:

  • Auto-project creation from a brief
  • Collaboration briefs
  • Manually creating projects from a brief with a submission brief

This guide explains how a manager would manually create a project from a brief using the Submission Brief set-up.

When manual project creation is enabled for your briefs, a briefer will need to fill in the brief and click Submit

Sending Your Submission Brief For Review - What the Briefer Sees

The briefer will then see a prompt to send that brief to a set of recipients for review. Depending on your organisation's admation set-up, these recipients may be pre-filled. And you may or may not be able to Edit Recipients. If you can make changes to these fields, you may opt to Edit Recipients to add or remove users as needed.

If you can edit your recipients, click the green arrow  to add a user who you'd like to add to this brief. They'll show under the heading on the right that says Selected Participants. You can also select the red cross  to remove each user from the list if you make a mistake. Click Done once you're happy with your selections.

Whilst the following fields aren’t a requirement, it's recommended that you fill in the Subject and Message. These fields are sent to your recipients as an email, and will be the first thing the recipients see before accessing the brief. Most users find that it’s helpful to add context in this section. You may also attach additional files using the drop attachments here section with the Browse button, if needed.

When you're finished, click Send.

What Recipients See When They're Sent a Submission Brief to Review

When someone is sent a brief to review, they'll receive an admation email with a link to that brief. This notification can also be retrieved from the Messages inbox in admation. Recipients can then Download or Preview that brief.

If that user is happy with the brief, they can create a project by clicking the Create Project button from the in-system message. Alternatively they can Request Changes to send a change request back to the briefer.

Once that user is happy with the brief, they will click the Create Project button to set up their admation project.

Depending on your brief's configuration settings, you may find that certain fields have copied across from the brief, saving you time and double-handling. Fields that may copy across include, but are not limited to:

  • Project Name
  • Project Supply Deadline
  • Project Live Date
  • Project Team Members
  • Tags
  • Campaigns

Pre-filled fields are a custom-adjustment that we can make to certain fields in your briefs if you ask us. Users may also visit our help guide for more assistance on putting your project together.

Once the project has been set up, the brief will be found under the documents tab in your project as an attachment.
